May/June Training Sessions

Dear Parents / Guardians,


Training sessions resume on Tuesday (May 31). Pupils must gather at the canteen by 1.45pm and the bus will bring them to Serangoon Stadium at 2pm (arrival: approximately 2.30pm). The bus will bring the pupils back at 4.30pm from Serangoon Stadium and should approximately arrive back in school by 5pm (under smooth traffic conditions). Please make transport arrangement to bring your child home from school at 5pm.

Please note the following:
1. If your competition event is in the morning (you leave the school before 7), you can wear your jerseys under your pinafore and wear your running shoes.

2. If your competition event is in the afternoon (you leave school after 11), you DO NOT wear your jerseys to school. Change during/after recess. You CAN wear your running shoes to school.

Track and Field Term 1 Training Schedule

Dear Parents / Guardians,

Training sessions during school term will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Serangoon Junior College.

Training session begins this Tuesday (18/01/11). Pupils were informed yesterday. Pupils must gather at the canteen by 2.15 pm and the bus will bring them to SRJC at 2.30 pm (arrival: approximately 3 pm). The bus will bring the pupils back at 5 pm from SRJC and should approximately arrive by 5.30 pm (under smooth traffic conditions). Please make transport arrangement to bring your child home from school at 5.30 pm.

The committed team trains hard under the leadership of our coach, Mr Lim Tiang Quee (http://redsports.sg/2008/07/16/lim-tiang-quee-coach/) and our new assistant coach, Mr Linus Lee. Through Direct School Admission, many team members also secured places in schools like Singapore Sports School, Nanyang Girls, St. Nicholas Girls, Cedar, Tanjong Katong Girls, etc.

Selection for the National Track and Field Championship will also be conducted soon as the competition dates are set to be from end of March to mid April. More information on the Milo Triathlon will also be given to the team soon.

Please also read the attached letter from Ms. See with regard to co-payment for the CCA.

Pupils are advised to bring along a small towel, light snacks, water bottle and their running shoes.

End of the term

Dear parents and girls,

There will be no training next week and during the Sep Holiday.

Training resume on Term 4 Week 1 and the training dates for September are:

The athletes are making improvement on their stamina with the training by Mr. Lim and Mr. Lee. We hope to see more improvement in Term 4. Mr. Lim will also begin training girls for their potential events for the National Competition next year in Term 4.

Dear Parents / Guardians,

 

Training sessions during school term will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Serangoon Junior College.

 

The team trains hard under the leadership of our coach, Mr Lim Tiang Quee (http://redsports.sg/2008/07/16/lim-tiang-quee-coach/) and our new assistant coach, Mr Linus Lee, and had received their national championships for the past four years. Members of the team had also represented Singapore in Western Australia and Indonesia for international competitions. Through Direct School Admission, many team members also secured places in schools like Singapore Sports School, Nanyang Girls, St. Nicholas Girls, Cedar, Tanjong Katong Girls, etc.

 

Training session begins this Tuesday (29/06/10). Pupils were informed last week. Pupils must gather at the canteen by 2.15 pm and the bus will bring them to SRJC at 2.30 pm (arrival approximately 3 pm). The bus will bring the pupils back at 5 pm from SRJC and should approximately arrive by 5.30 pm (under smooth traffic conditions). Please make transport arrangement to bring your child home from school at 5.30 pm.

 

Pupils are advised to bring along a small towel, light snacks, water bottle and their running shoes.

 

Let's work together to enable your child to maximize her potential with the team!

Pupils are to gather at the galleria by 2.10pm. The bus will leave for SRJC at 2.15pm. They will leave SRJC at 5pm and should be back in school by 5.30pm.

End of the Championships

Dear competitors and non-competitors,

Yesterday was the finals of the championships.
Congratulations, Natasha.
I'm sure you did your best and you did us proud.
And to all those who competed, they were all races well ran.
No one will run a race and think of losing.

It was a sunny Saturday afternoon in Oklahoma City. My friend and proud father Bobby Lewis was taking his two little boys to play miniature golf. He walked up to the fellow at the ticket counter and said, "How much is it to get in?"
The young man replied, "$3.00 for you and $3.00 for any kid who is older than six. We let them in free if they are six or younger. How old are they?"
Bobby replied, "The lawyer's three and the doctor is seven, so I guess I owe you $6.00."
The man at the ticket counter said, "Hey, Mister, did you just win the lottery or something? You could have saved yourself three bucks. You could have told me that the older one was six; I wouldn't have known the difference." Bobby replied, "Yes, that may be true, but the kids would have known the difference."
As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Who you are speaks so loudly I can't hear what you're saying." In challenging times when ethics are more important than ever before, make sure you set a good example for everyone you work and live with.

(Shared the story with my ethics class today. Read it! I think it is very meaningful.)
