Dear parents,

our bus had a minor accident on our way back to school. A lorry turned out from a carpark as we were going straight on the main road. No one seemed injured, however if your child feels any pain later, please take her to see a doctor. Please keep me informed if necessary. Please call me if you need more clarification. Sharing from my Ethics Lesson

Dear all,
Just to share with you some videos that I shared with the girls today during Ethics lesson.
YOU ALWAYS TRY YOUR HARDEST TO BE THE VERY BEST.
Did you? Do you always try your hardest? To be a good friend, to be a good daughter, to be a good sister, to be a good pupil? Everyone is different, but we cannot fail ourselves. By being the very best, it is not letting yourself down, but putting in the most effort to get things done. It is not simply getting the highest marks or running the fastest. It is about the attitude.

As you watch the following video, think about how, a pupil like you is just like a runner who is trying his or her best to complete a marathon.

Dear Parents / Guardians,
Compliments of the seasons!

As Track and Field is the school’s niche CCA, it is very important that your child commits to the training sessions during both school term and the school holidays.

Training sessions during school term will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Serangoon Junior College. National Inter-Primary School Track and Field Championships 2010 will be held in Term 2 from 16 April to 28 April instead of the usual Term 3.

The team trains hard under the leadership of our coach, Mr Lim Tiang Quee (http://redsports.sg/2008/07/16/lim-tiang-quee-coach), and had received their national championships for the past four years. Members of the team had also represented Singapore in Western Australia and Indonesia for international competitions. Through Direct School Admission, many team members also secured places in schools like Singapore Sports School, Nanyang Girls, St. Nicholas Girls, Cedar, Tanjong Katong Girls, etc.

Training session begins this Tuesday (12/01/10). Pupils were informed last week. Pupils must gather at the canteen by 2.15 pm and the bus will bring them to SRJC at 2.30 pm (arrival approximately 3 pm). The bus will bring the pupils back at 5 pm from SRJC and should approximately arrive by 5.30 pm (under smooth traffic conditions). Please make transport arrangement to bring your child home from school at 5.30 pm.

Pupils are advised to bring along a small towel, light snacks, water bottle and their running shoes. For the purchase of spike shoes, pupils will be advised at a later date.

Let’s work together to enable your child to maximize her potential with the team!

Thank you for your co-operation.

Mrs Lim Xiaoxin

50th National Inter-Primary School Track & Field Championships 2009

Dear all,

Competition Reminder Slips will be distributed to you during Monday's Training.
Slips include the details of competition (such as date, event number, heat number, lane, etc).
Should you want to download the programme or know more about the programme,
it is downloadable from
http://results.schoolsports.sg/pritrack/ss_home.php?mypage=zz_download.inc.

Please read the following email, as a precautionary measure against the spread of H1N1.

As a precautionary measure against the spread of H1N1, we would like to appeal to schools to adhere to the following requests :

1. To advise parents of your athletes to refrain from coming into the stadium during the preliminaries and heats. They are welcomed on the Finals on 22nd July as on this day a thermal scanner will be installed to help us detect the temperature of the guests. Schools will help to submit a contact tracing list for parent supporters on the final day.The same template used for participants can be used for the parents.

2. Participating schools are to advise your bus drivers to allow the participants to alight along Choa Chu Kang Street 53; proceed to the main gate at Level 2 via the broad staircase ( Only one entrance/exit point will be opened ) to submit the contact tracing list to our officials at this main gate. In case of rainy weather, participants would be allowed to alight at the car park but they would still have to proceed to Level 2 for entry into the stadium.

3. Only participants and teachers in-charge should be present at the heats and preliminaries. Participating schools are to submit the contact tracing list for their athletes, coach and accompanying teachers for the session which their pupils are participating. Hence should the athletes remain from morning to evening as some of the athletes are only down for the PM events, a second list with new temperature readings taken at 1.00pm should be forwarded to our officials.

4. All participating schools are strongly encouraged to send two teachers to accompany your participants. Accompanying teachers are expected to identify themselves using the CSC cards.

5. Kindly note that coaches and parents are not allowed in the competition arena and unwell pupils should not participate. We seek your understanding and look forward to your support and cooperation to enable us to run our meets smoothly.

Thank You!
Mrs Toh Boon Keng
National Convenor
